It's a laundry mat owner not very friendly though

Staff was friendly. The store was generally clean and didn't smell like cigarette smoke or mold. The extra large machine could use a maintenance cleaning. Prices weren't too bad. The sitting area was nice, and had tables and reading materials.

I was on vacation this week and I visited the Laundry Basket this morning and was left very frustrated after my experience. I used three different top loading machines ($2.50 each) to run a load of sheets, towels, and swim suits. When the cycles were complete I placed the sheets and towels in the dryer ($.75 per 18 minutes). When taking the swimsuits out of the washer I noticed they were still full of sand (mind you I rinsed them with the hose beforehand). I decided to run it through the wash one more time because I did not plan on putting them in the dryer anyway (that was an additional $2.50). When the dryer finished the towels were still damp, so I ran a second cycle ($.75). I sat there and waited...read a couple magazines...and then everything was done. I went to pull the swimsuits out first and they were still covered in sand. I was becoming frustrated but I calmly asked to speak with the owner. She walked up and asked "What's the problem?". I explained and showed her the sand on the clothes. She began pulling more out (acting annoyed) and stated "I don't see anything". (But the sand was clearly visible and when I shook a swimsuit over the garbage can you could hear the sand showing down) Once again annoyed, she asked "What do you want me to do?" I said, "What do you think you should do?" She proceeded to give a long explanation about how the machines are government regulated and they weigh the clothes and only fill with a set amount of water. She also told me that if I bought a washer it would be the same (mind you I have a low efficiency washer at home and I have never had any problems with my clothes coming clean) She also told me " If I preferred a machine that agitated my clothes more, I should have used an older machine" (like I would have known which one was older) She proceeded to tell me she would refund me $2.50 for the second load I re-washed because "I was already planning on washing it once". I was feeling cornered and overwhelmed so I said ok. I then went to retrieve the stuff from the dryer when I discovered the sheets were caked full of detergent.

Horrible experience, the woman was on me from the second I walked in. She didn't smile back at me and she was on me about the washers and what to put in them. I didn't put blankets in the top loader as she said. She told me when I asked if the machine buzzed when it is ready for fabric softener. She said nobody uses fabric softener anymore and I would have to just stand there and wait. I tried to ignore her but she wouldn't let up. She came over and started taking my clothes out of the washer when they were off balanced I said I will do it 3 times before she would stop. One of the dryers wouldn't except my quarters so I decided to move them to another dryer. She ran over and started telling me to just leave them in and try again. I told her I already tried 4 times When I told her finally to please leave me alone, she screamed at me and she and the man told me there was another Laundromat down the road and why don't I go there. I won't be back and I hope you won't reward their bad behavior by going in either. I gave 1 star because that is as low as it would let me go.

Plenty of washers in a variety of sizes and prices to fit all needs. Able to purchase soap and fabric softener on site. Change machine available and staff are always available.

I rate this 0 stars and I will not return.

To say the least I felt that my time and my money had been wasted.
