I give four stars because it is not a five star hotel and there is it's beauty. You can't clean your fresh caught fish in the lobby of a five star, but you can here, right around back! You can't hang out telling fish stories 'till two in the morning with beer and cigars you brought in. In a five star you can't, but you can at Dixie Bell. The status staff and patrons are so friendly, you can bring your pet, it's a half mile from, fishing to the South and Beach to the north and any attire is ok. I will be back, again and again.
The parking lot is gravel and the entrance will harm a low riding car. The lot is small but doable. The room was clean and cute but it was small for 4 people. We had 2 double beds and for 2 it would be great but 4 adults was a bit much. We had a fuze blow while we were there and they had it fixed quickly. They only had 3 outlets in the whole room and one was way overloaded. It's not glamorous but it's well cared for.
We stayed here in September/October of 2016. We had a very pleasant experience. Our rooms were clean and tidy. We loved the old fashioned feel of the place. The ladies were very nice and helpful in directing us to the best beaches and local dinner spots. The room rates were very fair and affordable. We'd definitely stay here again!
Great comfortable place to stay while fishing. Has a hose out front for cleaning out your boat and a fish cleaning station with running water and a freezer in the back. Well lit at night and just minutes from the boat ramp also close to Mexico beach if you want to be close but out of the mainstream crowd of partiers that are usually there. Affordable and definitely recommended.
Room was great. No complaints. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.
