Facility was great and the staff was friendly. The kennels were clean and all the animals that i saw were healthy and well fed. In fact, i applied to adopt a dog, a German shepherd. I was only waiting until my landlord sent the notification to the shelter that it was ok for me to have the dog in my home. Unfortunately, less than 30 minutes before he sent the approval, the shelter gave the dog to the local police department. When i left i was told i was the only one that had applied for the dog; but, when the decision was made to give the dog to someone else, i wasn't even given the courtesy of a phone call to try and work something out faster. I received the message via text after the dog was gone.

But the gift shop is very pricy for selling donated stuff. Low overhead costs. Volunteer employees? Turnover is more important than getting top dollar for everything. Need someone with a retail business Head.

PLEASE GO ADPOT AN ANIMAL. There are several that need a home. But when you decide you want one you better be sure to watch the staff very closely. They're not the most professional people to deal with...to say the least.
