We gave Dockside a second try because it does have a great view and unfortunately will not be returning. Our server could not remember our order which was odd because he was writing it down. The food was average but the flies converged on as soon as the food was placed on the table. It was something out of a horror movie. We moved inside and it was only a modest improvement. The server did not offer any suggestion nor solution just agreed the flies are bad. Many other much better dining options with better food and service and without flies.
Service was good. But for a place on the bay we expected better seafood. It's bar food but not good bar food.. And not worthy of the location, or 3 stars.
Extremely dissatisfied with this restaurant. Not only was the food mediocre, we came in with 5 adults and my 2 year old daughter (we didn't order anything at all for her because she doesn't eat much). Our waitress rang up the table for 6 adults. When we received our ticket we noticed 18% gratuity added. I asked to see the menu and on the first page it says "18% gratuity will be added to tables of 6 or more." In my opinion a 2 year old who didn't eat should not be counted as a member of the party. When we asked the waitress to remove the gratuity she said the manager did not know how to remove it. When asked to void the ticket and recharge, she said she would have to pay 50% of the voided ticket from her pocket. I have no problem with paying a tip but do not think a toddler should be accounted for in the same sense as an adult. We will not return.
Back with a friend and affirmed my original opion. The service was poor; no hostess to greet anyone at the door. Waited 40 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. Once seated, nothing improved. The limited staff working were kind enough, they were doing the best they could. The food was terrible. I ordered a cheeseburger, it was burned to a crisp, and the fries were cold. The flounder dinner that was ordered appeared to be under cooked. It was uneatable; comped - thank you. Whoever owns this restaurant needs to experience it, make changes, close the doors or sell.
Worse gumbo, no recognizable seafood in it, I have ever had in my life, slaw so runny it had to be tossed, fried shrimp were no good. Additionally, be sure to check your bill carefully...I was overcharged.... have called 4 times and each time was told I would receive credit card statement by 2 so called managers....has not happened in 12 days... extremely disappointing as this used to be a great restaurant ...quality of food and service greatly decreased and prices increased!
This was my second time at this restaurant. I said after the first visit I would not go back.
